Add socks to your bird's drumsticks for a special visual effect.
Use a regular-size piece of paper (8 1/2 x 11 inch or A1 size). I use white for an elegant look, or colored or printed paper for a jazzy, fun mood.
Fold the paper in half across the short dimension. If you are using an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet, fold across the 8 1/2 dimension so you have a rectangle 8 1/2 x 5 1/5
inches. You will get both socks from this one piece of paper. (See diagram below).
Lightly draw a line 3 inches from the folded edge. Then lightly draw lines 1/4 inch or less apart from the fold to the first line. Cut through the fold down these
lines to the 3 inch line.
After cutting the fringes, reverse fold the paper. This puts the drawn lines inside the sock and makes the fringes billow.
Wrap the sock around the drumstick and secure with a small piece of transparent tape. |
